M/F Open the door where you wish to reverse the cylinder on the Kwikset lock. Place a block or stop in front of the door so it doesn't shut.
M/F Position yourself on the inside face of the door. You can identify this side because the screws holding the Kwikset cylinder in place will be visible.
M/F Unscrew the screws counterclockwise on the Kwikset cylinder. Use a power drill with a screwdriver attachment, if available.
M/F Pull the rear face out of the Kwikset lock. Push your finger into the door cylinder opening and push out the front face of the Kwikset lock.
M/F Insert the front face of the Kwikset lock into the new reversed position. Ensure that the chambers for the screws fit through the bolt opening in the door securely. Hold this in place with one hand.
M/F Place the inside cylinder of the Kwikset lock in the other side of the door opening. Insert one of the screws into the Kwikset and thread it in by hand clockwise until the lock stays in position. Insert the other screw. Tighten the screws with the power drill or screwdriver.
M/F Test the reversed cylinder Kwikset lock several times by locking and unlocking it.
